The Journey
Where the campaign is, and what happens between now and July 2028.
Now
I'm training, writing about the relay on this site, and collecting the names of people who would nominate me when the forms open. If that's you, add your name here.
The Coming Months
LA28 has said torchbearer nomination details are coming soon. Its presenting partners, Coca-Cola, JPMorganChase, Allstate and Xfinity, will run their own torchbearer selections too. I'll post each one here the day it's announced. Applications for the LA28 volunteer program have been open since July 2026 at volunteer.la28.org.
2027
LA28 publishes the full route. Based on recent Games, this is also when the nomination forms should open. When they do, I'll email everyone on my list with the link.
2028
The flame is lit in Olympia, lands in Atlanta in the spring, and crosses all 50 states. It reaches the Opening Ceremony in Los Angeles on July 14, 2028. Whether or not I'm carrying it, I'll be out on the route to see it go by.
